Down With The Fat Girl

Tired of being the "fat girl", I have made a dedication to finally be rid of all my weight. This will be my daily adventures into diet and exercise and some embarrassingly true things about my path to skinny-ville.

RacquetBall Day

I'll admit it, I went to the gym and I played racquetball, but I wasn't 100% motivated and neither was hubby and after 40 minutes, we just stopped.

Oh well.

I tried to eat well today. I snacked on good stuff, not bad...until after dinner...which was probably the worst thing to do...but eh, I'll do better tomorrow.

Work Out Day-Cardio/Legs

You know, I'm starting to want someone to beat me up. I want someone to tell me...YOU ARE MESSING UP SNAP OUT OF IT because I can't seem to do that for myself. I am in a very low state right now...depressed about events in my life that are utterly out of my control (my Dad is basically dying right now, my son is a heathen at school...etc.) and I need someone to pick me up. Everyone feels so sorry for me that they don't want to upset me and my family, I've recognized, have become complete and utter enablers.

So....

I haven't been a good girl lately. I admit it. I *did* go to the gym on Friday. I did okay, considering that I was going off of 5 hours of sleep and had hit a wall with my energy level. I seriously was draggin that entire workout...

I haven't been to the gym since last Friday because my son has been out of school for "February Recess". He'll be back to school tomorrow and my butt will be back to the gym...

I'm finding that I'm getting more and more demotivated. I wish that I could snap out of it, but I just can't right now. It's just easier being lazy. I haven't even weighed myself in 3 days.

Work Out Day-Cardio/Legs

I honestly don't know what's going on right now with the ellipitcals...either they need to be adjusted or my additional 2 pounds is causing my calorie count to be off. I can honestly say that I kept the rpms over 78 most of the time and still only burned off 426 calories...I am always closer to the top of 400, roughly around 486...so this has been a little demotivating to me.

Work Out:

35 minutes elliptical; level 3; average speed: 73; machine tally calories burned: 426
13 minutes treadmill, avg. speed 4.0; total machine tally calories burned: 100
Seated Leg Press: 3 x 20; 70lb
Standing Calf: 2 x 15; 40lb
Hip Adduction (inner): 100 reps @ 50lb
Hip Abduction (outer): 100 reps @ 35lb
Prone Leg Curl: 2 x 20 30lb
Seated Leg Curl: 2 x 20 40lb
Leg Extension: 2 x 20 @ 20lb
50 Hanging Stomach crunches

Diet:

Breakfast: 1 lowfat yoplait yogurt, 1/3 of a bagel egg sandwich that my daughter wouldn't eat
Water: 3.5 .5 liter bottles of water @ gym
Lunch: left over chinese: a heap of chicken fried rice, small servings of house chicken and cashew chicken (less the cashews)
Water: 2 11 0z glasses
Dinner: 3 scoops of hamburger helper, lasagna, 1 large scoop of green beans, 2 reduced fat crescent rolls
Water: 2 11oz glasses

NEED I SAY AGAIN-If you are at the gym, do not talk on your cell phone! UGH! The lady next to me was chatting away, in arabic no less, and with all that chatter, it was hard to concentrate. For the love of all that is holy....if you're at the gym, WORK OUT. It's not time to call all your buddies on the cell phone. Gosh.

Work Out Day-Cardio/Arms/Chest/Back

Again, I'm starting to do my work out before my cardio on my arms days. I am surprised that I find myself with more energy when working out on my cardio after I've been running around doing arms. I think I like this. As long as the equipment I want is open! LOL

I will say, however, that despite the weight that I am at today, I *DID* exercise to help with all the eating I was doing. Monday, I jogged/walked (it was mostly jogging) for 1 mile and yesterday, I went to the gym and played an hour of racquetball with hubby. So I have been doing something, just doesn't look like it. *big sigh*

Work Out:

35 minutes Elliptical; level 3; avg. rpm 73; total machine tally calories burned: 418
11+ minutes treadmill, avg. speed 4.0; total machine tally calories burned: 100
Pectoral Fly: 2 x 20; 40 lb
Back Extension: 3 x 20; 70 lb
Row/Rear Delt: 2 x 20; 40 lb
Vertical Press: 2 x 20; 45 lb
Arm Extension (triceps): 2 x 20 @ 40 lb
Arm Curl (bicep): 2 x 20; 30 lb
Tricep Press: 2 x 20; 70 lb
60 hanging stomach crunches

Diet:

Breakfast: none
Water: 4 .5 liter bottles (at gym)
Lunch: On The Border leftovers-1 small chicken enchilada and 1/3 of a beef/potato burrito
Water: 1 11 oz glass; 1 8oz glass
Snack: 1 snack size (mini bars) butterfinger & baby ruth
Dinner: 1/2 boneless pork chop, 2 scoops of white rice w/bbq & beer sauce
Water: 1 11oz glass
Dessert: 1 snackpack butterscotch pudding w/3 vanilla sandwich cookies

What I found odd at the gym: There is this woman that runs on the treadmill for about 10 steps, then holds on to the rails and does 5 long strides, then goes back for her 10 running steps...I honestly don't get it and I jogged next to her today and it was distracting when you're trying to concentrate and motivate yourself. All I know is that I won't be running next to her when I get a chance next time. I have seen her do it before and it's always annoyed me, but running next to her made me realize just how odd this is.
Funniest moment at the gym: doing stomach crunches across from the racquetball courts...there's this guy that I know just thinks I'm stalking him because they always play in court 4 and that court is right next to the bars to do hanging stomach crunches. This guy is hard to miss because he's good looking, but he also has that weird hair birthmark where it's white all along the back of his head, in a odd pattern, but all the rest of his hair is black. It's hard not to stare at it, however unintentional. LOL He ran into the glass today, totally flat out and smiled at me...so I know that he knows I'm looking at him. Didn't mean to, but it sure did look funny watching him run into the glass, full force.
Grossest thing at the gym today: ME. AGAIN. I know that I was smelly. I went to the restroom and when I looked in the mirror to wash my hands, there was sweat just pouring down my chest and face. I went to check my daughter out of child care and they asked if I just got done doing the class...um, no, it's just me and my sweaty ass.

What the scale said today: embarrassingly 174.8. I know it's because of two major factors: bloating & going out to eat for 4 days in a row. BAD COMBO.

Work Out Summary

I have been neglecting my postings because I have had a lot of family drama and issues at home lately and haven't felt motivated or willing to post here. I really appreciate the few that have come out of the woodwork to support my blog and be here for me. That has really meant a lot to me during this time of need.

I have been hitting the gym though and trying to be good despite the serious lack of sleep that I have been suffering through. I finally made up for it last night and feel energized enough to post here, though I forgot to weigh myself today.

*FOR TODAY*
I will not be able to post much about diet, etc. because my mother-in-law is flying in tomorrow morning and despite cleaning all week, have decided that the hardcore cleaning will happen tonight. I have already been running around all morning and still have SO much to do. Wish me luck with the "MIL" and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

RacquetBall Day - Wednesday

I feel like a slug today. It was a very emotional day...a lot of home drama, so it created conditions where I consoled myself with food. The saddest part is that I told myself I wasn't hungry, even hesitated before I crammed something into my mouth and tried to eat slowly but all I could think about is the next thing that I wanted to eat. It was a humiliating experience and I am profoundly disappointed in myself. As I sit here, I feel like tearing up because I can't believe how much I have let my eating spiral out of control. The worst part? I KNOW I'm doing it.

Exercise:

1 hour of racquetball...kicked my hubby's booty, 2 games to his 1

Diet:

Breakfast: 1 low-fat yoplait yogurt
Water: 2 .5 liter bottles at the gym
Lunch: left overs from last night-1.25 very thin small chicken breasts, 1 serving of chicken flavored rice and baked beans
Water: 1 11oz glass
Dinner: 3 very small slices of frozen pepperoni pizza, 1/2 small salad w/fat-free ranch dressing
Water: 1 11oz glass
Dessert: 20 peanut m&m's, 4 pringles and 2 chocolate covered nutter butter cookies
Water: 1 11 oz glass

Home Work Out Day - Tuesday

So, I called the gym at 6am to find out if they had any racquetball courts available and they were booked. That has NEVER happened before. Hubby wanted to do something with me today, so we decided on taking a very brisk walk. It ended up being good for two things...physically and emotionally...we had a very nice talk and it made the time pass quickly and the distance not as long. We really hoofed it. I unfortunately gorged myself at lunch and was going to skip dinner entirely...but with so much food around me with the kids and hubby eating, I gave in to temptation.

Exercise:

3 mile walk (including hills)

Diet:

Breakfast: 1 low-fat yoplait yogurt
Lunch: Baja Fresh-pork carnitas burrito w/ a serving of tortilla chips
Beverage: 3 small sierra mists
Dinner: 2 spoonfuls of mac & cheese (and I don't mean scoops, I mean whatever is on one spoonful...so there wasn't much), 1/4 bowl of marshmellow popcorn & a 1/2 bowl of strawberry frosted mini wheat cereal w/ 2% milk
Dessert: 1 chocolate covered nutter butter cookie
Water: 2 11oz glasses

What the scale said today: 173.2 (but after my walk, it was 172.2)

Work Out Day-Cardio/Legs

It was hard to wake up and be motivated today. I tried though. I admit, I didn't attempt to hit the treadmill because I honestly didn't want to. As it is, I spend 1+ hours in the gym a day and adding the treadmill often pushes it to 1.5+ hours. I didn't have the time today, but I put out a good effort and I felt energized once I actually did get there and started to work with the weights.

Work Out:

35 minutes elliptical; level 3; average speed: 75; machine tally calories burned: 500
Seated Leg Press: 3 x 20; 60lb
Standing Calf: 2 x 15; 40lb
Hip Adduction (inner): 100 reps @ 50lb
Hip Abduction (outer): 100 reps @ 35lb
Prone Leg Curl: 2 x 20 30lb
Seated Leg Curl: 2 x 20 35lb
Leg Extension: 2 x 20 @ 30lb
50 Hanging Stomach crunches

Diet:

Breakfast: 1 low-fat yoplait yogurt
Water: 3 .5 liter bottles
Lunch: ham/turkey/cheese sandwich w/mustard
Water: 1 11oz glass
Dinner: 1.25 thin grilled chicken breasts, 2 scoops of chicken flavored rice (without butter), 2 scoops of baked beans
Water: 2 11oz glasses
Dessert: 1 mini baby ruth snack bar, 1 reese's peanut butter cup, 10 peanut M&M's

Interesting thing at the gym today: Ms. Pigtails. This 35+ lady, wearing pig tails and dancing to her iPod on the ellipical. Entertaining, to say the least.

What the scale said today: 173 I have to say, I'm very disappointed.

Sunday-A Day Of Rest

Alright, I know I porked out. I know this. All I can say is that I had a moment of weakness that lasted all day. LOL

I could say that I earned it, but that would undermine everything that I do all weak, so I won't justify it.

So, Sunday is my day of rest, no working out, no anything but having fun.

I shopped all day with the kids and then hung out at my parent's house for some Super Bowl eats. Gotta love rest days!

Diet:

Breakfast: none
Lunch: Red Robin - Grilled chicken honey mustard sandwich, serving of steak fries w/ranch dressing
Water: 3 16oz glasses
Dinner: Hot Dog w/mustard, 1 bowl of chili w/a pinch of cheddar cheese and a handful of Tostitos scoops chips, about 6 bites of salad w/ranch dressing
Water: 2 8oz glasses
Dessert: 1/2 ice cream drumstick, 2 reese's mini peanut butter cups, 1 warm delight (cinnamon)-keep in mind, this was over a course of 3 hours...I got munchie hungry! BAD ME!

I did really well yesterday too, in regards to eating and working out and I'm pretty bummed out that my post disappeared. There are some weird things happening with blogger right now. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Work Out Day-Cardio/Legs

I have to say that I'm starting to feel a little out of steam about working out. I was relieved to have two racquetball days this week. I was not looking forward to getting back into the grind. Didn't help that I gained back some weight from yesterday and I was *trying* to be good. I do feel slimmer though. I got on my scale, that does body fat, and it says that my percentage was 35. That's NOT GOOD. Especially since when I had my body fat taken last August, I was at 35.1%. Had it done in September and it was 34.6%...how is it that I've lost 8 pounds since September and my body fat INCREASED?! Let's just say that it really upset me.

Work Out:

36 minutes elliptical; level 3; average speed: 75; machine tally calories burned: 500
6+ minutes treadmill; average speed 5.0 mph; machine tally calories burned: 50
Seated Leg Press: 3 x 20; 60lb
Standing Calf: 2 x 15; 40lb
Hip Adduction (inner): 100 reps @ 50lb
Hip Abduction (outer): 100 reps @ 35lb
Prone Leg Curl: 2 x 20 30lb
Seated Leg Curl: 2 x 20 35lb
Leg Extension: 1 x 10 @ 40lb; 3 x 10 30lb
50 Hanging Stomach crunches

Water: 3.5 .5 liter bottles

RacquetBall Day - Wednesday

I haven't posted the last few days because I have been eating utterly horribly and to rehash it would be a nightmare for me to relive and horrifying to show the world how much I can punish myself with food. I have been showing no restraint, despite thinking how I need to stop eating, need to stop snacking, shouldn't be eating etc.

Yesterday, I put myself on a mini-fast so that I could shed some water weight from my salt intake over the last few days. My water retention was ridiculous. I never put salt on my food and cook with only seasoned salt....but when you eat out, they put so much salt on your food. It was successful, I lost 2 pounds of water in one day and I knew that would happen when I did that. I really didn't "fast" in the true meaning of the word, I just skipped breakfast, drank a lot of water, only ate fruit for lunch (which was VERY hard to do) and then ate very little for dinner. I also played racquetball for an hour, went for a 1 mile walk carrying 2 5lb weights and rotating bicep curls, 50 sit ups...

Exercise:
45 minutes of racquetball

Diet:
Breakfast: none (mini-fast continued until this morning)
Water: 4 .5 liter bottles (at gym)
Lunch: left over stroganoff, small serving, with medium serving of peas and carrots w/pepper; 8 dorito tortilla chips and 1 reese's mini peanut butter cup
Water: 2 11 oz glasses
Dinner: 1 turkey burger w/swiss cheese, 10 baked zesty fries, 1.5 scoops of mac&cheese shells
Water: 1 11oz glass

I plan on making my lite banana bread for dessert (I only use lite bisquik for it and it has no butter in it) and plan on having 1 piece (but that hasn't happened yet, it's still baking).
